GIANCARLO SCARCHILLI (director and screenwriter)
He was born in Rome. He lived in London from 1974 to 1976. In those three years, he intensified his writing of stories and poems. Upon his return to Italy, he becomes Sergio Citti and Vittorio Gassman’s closest collaborator. As assistant to the director and/or screenplay he works on Due pezzi di pane (1978, Sergio Citti), Il Minestrone (1980, Sergio Citti), Di padre in figlio (1978/82, Vittorio Gassman), Sogni e bisogni (1984/85, Sergio Citti) e Gassman Story (1985/86).
He makes his debut in film direction with “Mi fai un favore” (1997). This was followed by “I fobici” (1999); “Scrivilo sui muri” (2007); “VITTORIO racconta GASSMAN” (2010), winner of the Nastro d’Argento 2011 Award; “ESSERE RICCARDO… e gli altri” (2013), candidate for the Nastro d’Argento 2014 Award; “Fidel Castro, My Story” (2015); “Animenere” (2016), short + spot announcement for an anti bullying campaign.
In 2015, he published “Zattere e Bussole“, a collection of poems + CD.
