The jury will award the following Prizes:
Four Special Mentions, among films of both competitions, will moreover be awarded to the short films that better interpret the following themes:
- AQUA & THE ENVIRONMENT Special Mention: it will be awarded to the work that better explains the importance of preserving water to respect and safeguard the environment. In addition to the mention, the winner will receive a gift from Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.
- AQUA & ISLAND Special Mention: it will be awarded to the work that better represents the island or islands which inspired its story. The Mention will be appointed by ANCIM – National Association of Small Islands Municipalities.
- AQUA & ANIMATION Special Mention: it will be awarded to the work that stood out among others for the wise use of the different animation techniques, from cartoon, to stop motion, or graphic novel, etc..
- AQUA & THRILLER Special Mention: it will be awarded to the mystery film, detective film or thriller, that better expressed the theme of water.
During the upcoming edition of Aqua Film Festival 2019, the winners of the new competition dedicated to schools and universities, named AQUA & STUDENTS, will moreover be announced.
The winners will be awarded a special mention for each of the following sections:
- AQUA & STUDENTS National Special Mention, for works coming from school and universities from the Elba island and the Italian territory;
- AQUA & STUDENTS International Special Mention, for works from interational universities and schools.
Finally, a special mention out of competition will be awarded, for each edition, to the best reportage on environmental damage:
- BROTHER SEA Special mention:: it will be awarded to the work that better shows, through images, the situation of a territory, denouncing the harmful effects of human activities on the environment, to help finding a solution.
The organizers reserve the right to include eventual additional prizes, to be provided by sponsors.
