Biography

Ernesto D’Argenio is an italian actor born in Milan.

At the age of 19 he leaves Italy to go abroad. After a long journey, which takes him to live and work in various countries, he returns to Italy to follow his dream. He further studied acting in Rome with Beatrice Bracco, with whom started his career in theatre.

In 2011 he made his debut with a lead role in cinema with Daniele Maggioni’s first movie: “Tutto Bene”. The same year,  he was chosen by Elio Germano and Valerio Mastrandrea to join the Acting course at the Gian maria Volontè School of Cinenatographic Arts.

Having graduated as an actor in 2013, he entered the cinema under the guidance of Ettore Scola al Teatro 5 of Cinecittà in Rome, playing the role of MAmeli Barbara and Marcello Mastroianni in his latest film, presented at the 70th International Art Exhibition film in Venice, “How Strange to be called Federico”, as a tribute to Federico Fellini.

We also see him in Roberto Andò’s thriller “Le Confessioni”, together with an exceptional cast composed by Toni Servillo, Daniel Auteuil and Connie Nielsen.

He became popular thanks to the crime drama for Rai2 “Rocco Schiavone”, where he joins Marco Giallini in the role of Italo Pierron, keeping to demonstrate his talent in complex and fascinating roles.

He is now part of the main cast of the international series produced by Netflix “Briganti” out from April 23rd 2024, written by the GRAMS collective and directed by Steve Saint Leger (Vikings) and Nicola Sorcinelli.

He will also be in the comedy “But who knows you”, directed by Francesco Fanuele, first at cinema and then on Netflix, alongside Simona Tabasco and Antonio Folletto.
