The focus of the 11th edition is on two cities that symbolize the Mediterranean's liquid heritage: Rome and Venice, the "queens of water." Capitals of civilizations and imaginations, they become the protagonists of the thematic itinerary "ROMA et VENETIAE REGINAE AQUARUM – The water that unites civilizations."

The CALL TO PARTICIPATE is open from November 3rd 2022. The deadline to submit films is February 28th 2023.

From October 1st, 2019 to February 20th, 2020, the participation, through free registration, to the fifth edition of Aqua Film Festival is open.

The Jury, in charge of awarding the short films in competition, was composed by Antonio Manzini - writer and screenwriter, the actor Beppe Convertini, Luca Raffaelli - essayist, writer and film director, the actress Chiara Francini, Mimmo Calopresti - film director, Alberto Luca Recchi - explorer and underwater photographer, the actor Lorenzo Flaherty, Marco Colasanti - entrepreneur and designer, the Vice President for Italy of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, Ruben Sharif De Luca - psychologist, criminologist and writer, the artist Cristiana Pedersoli, Hélène El Missouri - from Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, and Rosalba Giugni - President of the association Marevivo.

Il festival in tour per l’Italia: dopo Roma, Isola d’elba arriva a Milano. Una selezione dei cortometraggi della terza edizione di Aqua Film Festival, “sbarcano” a Milano, l’11 ottobre (alle ore 21), allo Spazio Oberdan della Cineteca Italiana (Piazza Oberdan).

The short film “Mon Père le Poisson” (France, 2017, 15’) by Britta Potthoff and Adrien Pavie is the winner of “SISTER WATER prize” for the best Short film, in the third edition of Aqua Film Festival, short and mini short film festival, with meetings, workshop, and special events dedicated to and inspired by the theme of water, directed and created by Eleonora Vallone, which was held from June 7 to 9 in Rome, at the Caravaggio cinema and the House of Cinema.

The programme of the third edition presents, as usual, the international short film and mini short film competition, and includes meetings on the theme of water with Giovanni Spagnoletti, professor at the University of Tor Vergata, and criminologist Ruben Sharif De Luca, as well as workshops on the use of smartphone to produce films and video curricula. During the festival three full-length films will be screened: the Italian premiere of Big Fish & Begonia, by Liang Xuan and Zhang Chun, animated film about the extraordinary friendship between humans and creatures from underwater world ...
