Biography

Actress, dubber, film-director, writer and screenwriter born in Rome. She is the daughter of the dubber and director of dubbing Renato Izzo, and starts her career in the world of show business at a very young age, also working as a dubber. Her work in dubbing won her the 1990 Nastro d’Argento for giving her voice to the character played by Jacqueline Bisset in the film Scenes from the Class Struggle in Beverly Hills.

As an actress she has featured in numerous films, including, In Camera Mia (1992) by Luciano Martino, Prestazione Straordinaria by Sergio Rubini (1994), Simpatici & Antipatici by Christian De Sica (1998). She then wrote the screenplay for various films such as Piccoli Equivoci, Ultrà, La Scorta, and Canone Inverso – Making Love, all directed by her husband Ricky Tognazzi.

Her debut as a Director was with her sister Rossella in 1986, with a film for TV Parole e baci. In 1994 she directed Maniaci Sentimentali, a comedy about marriage for which she was awarded the David di Donatello for best new director. In 1997, she directs Camere da Letto, featuring Diego Abatantuono and Maria Grazia Cucinotta, a film in which she also has a small acting role. In 2003, she directed Io no together with Ricky Tognazzi, and Tutte le donne della mia vita in 2007.

She is also the author of 7 books, including L’amore delle donne and Mascalzoni latini – Come ci amano gli uomini, both published by Arnoldo Mondadori Editore and Quando l’amore non aspetta – Storie di uomini e passione: come ritrovare il controllo del piacere, written with Vincenzo Mirone and published by Sperling & Kupfer.
