LUCA BRAGUGLIA

Born in 1965 and graduated in 1991 in Architecture in Rome at the end of a fundamental experience of training in the Summer School of Civil Architecture of HRH The Prince of Whales. In 1992 the Luca Braguglia Architects office is founded focusing on the project and its realization at the most extreme scale from details to building: ranging from boats to sport complexes throughout the renovation of apartments, shops, offices and public spaces; along with projects of schools, bridges and constructions of villas and countryhouses.

RELATIONSHIP WITH THE WATER – LUCA BRAGUGLIA

Either for sport or for jobs my relationship with the water is always the same: feeded by fear and astonishment. Water strucks me and makes me fall in love with her if I’m rowing or sailing or just if I stare at her or if I have to handle in the case of working with on boats or in a swimming building complex . In the boat division the water represents the very element to blend with the project, in a swimming complex the water is on one hand the essence of the project and on the other end represents the spirit of it : its fluidity becomes the philosophy to approach the architecture: spaces, such as the natural light start and end one into the other as in a water flood. In few words the relation an architect might have with the water follows his attitude to capture its movements, the changing colours, its noise and silence and above all the belief that it will always change turning out to be still
