Biography

He has over 40 years experience in film sets. After starting as an assistant to the machine, then working as an operator in many Italian comedies and action films of international production. As a machine operator of the 2nd unit we mention “The Legend of the Pianist on the Ocean” (1998) and “Malena” (2000) by the Oscar-winning director Giuseppe Tornatore.

In the 2000s he signed the photograph of “Il manoscritto del principe” by Roberto Andò and some very successful films for TV as “Il cuore nel pozzo” (2005) with Beppe Fiorello, “L’intramontabile” (2006) with Pierfrancesco Favino and “L’ultimo dei Corleonesi” (2007), all directed by Alberto Negrin. He returned to the cinema in 2009 by signing the photography for the films “Iago” by Volfango De Blasi and “Baaria” by Giuseppe Tornatore receiving for this film the nomination for the David di Donatello in 2017and winning the Silver Ribbons.

The following year he signs the photograph of “A Natale mi sposo” (2010) and “Baciato dalla fortuna” (2011), both directed by Paolo Costella. He later directed “Troppo Amore” (2011), “La fuga di Teresa” (2011), “One Thousand and One Nights – Aladino and Sherazade” (2012), “Mai Stati Uniti” (2013) and “Caccia al tesoro” (2017) In 2017 the film “Khibula” by director G. Ovashvili, of which he was director of photography, was also released.
