AQUA FILM FESTIVAL 2019 FINAL PRIZES

House of Cinema, Rome
April 11 to 13, 2019

fourth edition

The fourth edition of Aqua Film Festival, the first international film festival featuring short films, meetings, workshops and special events, dedicated to the theme of water – that was created and directed by Eleonora Vallone, actress, journalist and water sports expert – was held at the House of Cinema, on April 11, 12 and 13, 2019.

Among more than two hundred films, from all over the world, that successfully passed the selection process, 20 were screened in the Short Film section, 6 in the Mini Short-Film section, and 5 in the Aqua&Students section, exclusively dedicated to students. The festival also displayed two full-length films on the subject of water, two premieres, four social impact films, within the section “Brother Sea, Friend Lake, Dear River”, out of competition, and two music videos on the subject of water. The workshop on shooting techniques for filmmaking through smartphone, held by Prof. Francesco Crispino, had a great success. Moreover, this year a collaboration with MEDICINEMA Italia Onlus has started: we showed, at the cinema rooms of Niguarda Hospital in Milan and of Policlinico Gemelli University Hospital in Rome, a selection of short films, to a special Jury composed by patients, doctors, nurses and volunteers, and they expressed their preference to the best short film.

The Jury, in charge of awarding the short films in competition, was composed by Antonio Manzini – writer and screenwriter, the actor Beppe Convertini, Luca Raffaelli – essayist, writer and film director, the actress Chiara Francini, Mimmo Calopresti film director, Alberto Luca Recchi – explorer and underwater photographer, the actor Lorenzo Flaherty, Marco Colasanti – entrepreneur and designer, the Vice President for Italy of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, Ruben Sharif De Luca – psychologist, criminologist and writer, the artist Cristiana PedersoliHélène El Missouri – from Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, and Rosalba Giugni – President of the association Marevivo.
